Usain Bolt

Usain St. Leo Bolt born on 21 August 1986, is a Jamaican sprinter widely regarded as the fastest person ever. He is the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time measurements became mandatory in 1977. Along with his teammates, he also set the world record in the 4×100 metres relay.
In the Olympic Games of Beijing in 100 m final, Bolt broke new ground, winning in 9.69 s with a reaction time of 0.165 s.

Michael Phelps

Michael Fred Phelps II born on 30 June 1985, is a retired American swimmer and the most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 22 medals. Phelps also holds the all-time records for Olympic gold medals (18), Olympic gold medals in individual events (11), and Olympic medals in individual events for a male (13). In winning eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Games, Phelps took the record for the most  first-place finishes at any single Olympic Games.

Closing Ceremony

The 2008 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony concluded the Beijing Games on 24 August 2008. It began at 8:00 pm and took place at the National Stadium of Beijing.
The Ceremony included the handover of the Games from Beijing to London. Guo Jinlong, the Mayor of Beijing handed over the Olympic flag to the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, followed by a performance.

Stadium

The Beijing National Stadium was inaugurating 28 June 2008 and the architects are Herzog and de Meuron.
The stadium is commonly known as “bird's nest”, due to its exterior steel net.
The stadium measures:
§ 330 m long
§ 220 m wide
§ 69 m high
It is equipped with a system of solar energy and collection of rainwater for irrigation and cleaning. It has the capacity of 91,000 spectators.

Opening Ceremony

The 2008 Summer Olympics opening ceremony began at 8:00 pm China Standard Time on 08/08/2008. The artistic part of the ceremony comprised two parts titled "Brilliant Civilization" and "Glorious Era" respectively. The first part highlighted the Chinese civilization and the second part exhibited modern China.
The sequence of events:
